Exclusive: Barcelona Line-Up Approach for Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger to Replace Gerardo Martino as Nou Camp Boss

Nou Camp side target Emirates Stadium supremo. Check in to Arsenal vs Swansea City Barcelona are readying an approach to lure Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to the Nou Camp as the Catalan side identify the Frenchman as the man they want to replace current manager Gerardo Martino. CaughtOffside understands that the La Liga side are set to call time on Martino's brief reign in charge and hope to persuade Wenger to leave Arsenal this summer. Wenger will see his current deal expire at the end of the current campaign and may feel that it's time for a fresh challenge after 18 years at Arsenal. Arsenal have gone nine years without silverware and though the North London club could win the FA Cup this term their hopes of a Premier League title took a hammering after a 6-0 defeat to Chelsea in Wenger's 1000th match in charge of the Gunners. Reports suggest that Wenger will hold off on any potential Arsenal contract extension until the end of the season and this may well offer Barcelona hope of bringing in the 64 year old. The chance to manage Barcelona could prove tempting to Wenger though he has also been linked with a return to his former club AS Monaco, where he has been earmarked as a possible replacement for current manager Claudio Ranieri. Samuel Eto'o Injury: Updates on Chelsea Star's Leg and Return

Samuel Eto'o's day came to a premature end during Chelsea's London Derby with Arsenal. Despite opening the scoring after just two minutes with a well placed shot, the Cameroonian signalled to the bench shortly afterwards. Indicating that the problem was in the hamstring area, it was a cruel blow for the Blues striker so early on in the match. Simon Overall tweeted on Eto'o's removal from proceedings: And the official Chelsea Twitter account noted Fernando Torres' replacement of Eto'o: The Spaniard may now find he gets an extended run in the side at his colleague's expense, if Chelsea's worst fears are confirmed. According to NHS.co.uk, a Grade 3 hamstring tear can often take weeks or even months to repair fully. Given Eto's advancing years, it's unlikely Blues manager Jose Mourinho will want to rush him straight back into action either. With three goals in his last three appearances and a man-of-the-match performance against Tottenham, per WhoScored.com, the striker was clearly playing himself into some form. It remains to be seen what effect his omission will have on Chelsea's final push toward the Premier League title.Read more Premier League news on BleacherReport.com
