Samuel Eto'o's day came to a premature end during Chelsea's London Derby with Arsenal. Despite opening the scoring after just two minutes with a well placed shot, the Cameroonian signalled to the bench shortly afterwards. Indicating that the problem was in the hamstring area, it was a cruel blow for the Blues striker so early on in the match. Simon Overall tweeted on Eto'o's removal from proceedings: And the official Chelsea Twitter account noted Fernando Torres' replacement of Eto'o: The Spaniard may now find he gets an extended run in the side at his colleague's expense, if Chelsea's worst fears are confirmed. According to NHS.co.uk, a Grade 3 hamstring tear can often take weeks or even months to repair fully. Given Eto's advancing years, it's unlikely Blues manager Jose Mourinho will want to rush him straight back into action either. With three goals in his last three appearances and a man-of-the-match performance against Tottenham, per WhoScored.com, the striker was clearly playing himself into some form. It remains to be seen what effect his omission will have on Chelsea's final push toward the Premier League title.Read more Premier League news on BleacherReport.com
